About Liam Halligan

Liam Halligan is an economist, journalist, broadcaster and former investment strategist with a reputation for making complex economic and political issues accessible and engaging. Best known for writing the highly regarded Economics Agenda column in The Sunday Telegraph, he has earned multiple British Press Awards, including Business and Finance Journalist of the Year and Workworld Columnist of the Year.

Alongside his journalism, Liam has extensive experience in global finance. Between 2007 and 2013, he served as Chief Economist at Prosperity Capital Management, one of the world’s largest Russia and CIS-focused asset managers, overseeing economic analysis for investments worth more than $4 billion.

His media career has spanned some of the UK’s most respected news organisations. Liam has worked as a Political Correspondent for The Financial Times, Economics Correspondent for Channel 4 News, Moscow Reporter for The Economist, and presenter of BBC Radio 5 Live’s Wake Up to Money. He has also written and presented acclaimed documentaries on economic and financial issues for Channel 4.

A regular commentator across television and radio, Liam frequently appears on programmes including Question Time, Today, CNN and other major news outlets. He is also Editor-at-Large of Business New Europe, providing analysis of political, economic and business developments across Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
