Rachel de Thame

Rachel de Thame is a respected broadcaster, writer and passionate gardener who has become one of the most recognisable faces in British horticulture. Best known for her work on BBC2’s Gardeners’ World, where she has been a regular presenter since 1999, Rachel has spent more than two decades sharing her expertise and enthusiasm for gardening with audiences across the UK.

Trained at The English Gardening School, Rachel combines practical horticultural knowledge with a love of design, history and the natural world. Alongside Gardeners’ World, she has presented a range of television and radio programmes including Small Town Gardens, Gardening with the Experts, Countrywise, A Good Read and Essential Classics.

Rachel is also an accomplished writer and columnist. She contributes regularly to The Sunday Times and The Garden magazine for the RHS, and has written for numerous publications including BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine and The Huffington Post. She is the author of three gardening books and remains a trusted voice on gardening, planting and outdoor living.

Her horticultural expertise extends beyond broadcasting and writing. Rachel has worked on a variety of design projects, including the LK Bennett Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show and the floral decorations for the Royal Barge during the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. She has also co-curated the RHS London Rose Show and regularly hosts talks and events for leading cultural and gardening organisations.
