Britian's most successful all round swimmer was born in Plymouth. Sharron was at 13 the youngest member of the 1976 Olympic team in Montreal and the eldest member of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic team.

Her International career stretched over an incredible twenty years and she broke or re-broke over 200 British records during her career. She was double Commonwealth Gold medallist at just 15 and Olympic Silver medallist, only beaten by an East German who was later found to be drug aided.
Most days consisted of 4-6 hours of training often starting at 5am. She still regularly works out to stay fit but believes in moderation and a sensible healthy lifestyle.
After a media break of eight years due to the sport turning professional and no trust funds Sharron returned to international swimming and again won Commonwealth silver and bronze, became ladies captain and won two world cups as well as setting a British record that stood for over 25 years.
In 1993 she was awarded the MBE by the Queen.
She has helped raise over 10 million pounds for different charities over the last 15 years with her event Swim 4 Life, and remains committed to children's issues and well being with the fight against childhood obesity which she believes is a huge problem we need to discuss.
Today she works in the media and fashion world as well as many public relations activities, conferences and motivational events for major companies. She has presented C4's The Big Breakfast was was Amazon in ITV's Gladiators. She now presents for the BBC.
