Gavin has just got a job as presenter of Channel 4’s My Place in the Sun which he is about to start filming to go out later in 2005/2006 and he is also the on screen construction expert and presenter of BBC1’s highly successful Paintathon with Rolf Harris and as the expert builder and judge on Britain’s Worst Builder on Five.

Most people know Gavin as one of the main presenters for Builders Sweat and Tears. This followed on from the success of the seven series and the In the Sun specials of Big Strong Boys for BBC1. Gavin was also the co-presenter of Moving Day for ITV1. His TV credits before this include Homefront, Looking Good and Top Gear GTI. His specialist skills and flair for design were also utilized on Discovery Home & Leisure where Junk To Funk was a prime time show, and he has also been the voice of DIY for GMTV and for hot new gadgets on Future Now on ITV1. His background in travel and tourism (working as a holiday rep) also led to him presenting for the Travel Channel.

Gavin is lucky enough to be able to incorporate interior design and D.I.Y into his work, as it is one of his main hobbies. He is in the process of doing up his fourth home in London and his television experience has led him to experiment with new ideas at home. He also writes for BBC Good Homes magazine as a regular, and features in various other different magazines and related live shows.
DIY expert Gavin fell into television presenting by chance, but since first appearing on screen, he’s been in hot demand as one of the few young, good-looking non-news presenters around.
