Honoured with three Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, Kim is the recipient of a Screen Actor's Guild award for her role in Sex and the City.
Her extensive acting career has spanned film, stage and television. On the big screen, Kim has starred in the blockbuster films Police Academy 1; Porkys; Mannequin; Masquerade; Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country; Big Trouble in Little China; and, Bonfire of the Vanities. Her performance as “Jamie” in the delightful independent feature Live Nude Girls earned her rave reviews at numerous film festivals. Her most recent films have been Crossroads, Ice Princess, Him and Us, The Tiger’s Tail and Sex in the City 1 & 2.
When not working in film or television, Kim appeared on stage in critically acclaimed productions of Arthur Miller's "A View From the Bridge", Anton Chekhov's "Three Sister's", Strindberg's "Miss Julie", and Molieres' "The Misanthrope.” She made her Broadway debut opposite Ian McKellen in the National Theater of London's production of Chekhov's "Wild Honey".
On television, she starred in the adaptation of Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, ‘The Heidi Chronicles’, in Oliver Stone's mini series, Wild Palms and the personal Lifetime television segment, Intimate Portrait: Kim Cattrall.
Kim began her acting career, aged 16, as a student at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She eventually expanded into film and guest starred in numerous television series that led to starring roles opposite Jack Lemmon in Tribute and her Lead Actress Genie nomination (Canadian Oscars) for her performance in Ticket to Heaven.
The versatile Kim is also the author of several best-selling books, including Sexual Intelligence and Being a Girl: Navigating the Ups and Downs of Teen Life, a personal account that is part teenage confidential, part survival guide for young girls which tackles real questions in an honest, intimate and totally hip way.
She is a dedicated speaker and advocate of mentoring girls and young women and tireless activist in the battle against teen pregnancy.
