Kate lives and breathes property both at work and home and brings a refreshing change to speaking about property with practical, down to earth advice that really helps people carry out their property project successfully.
Kate has worked as business development consultant in the property industry, introducing new products into the relocation market; re-branded and prepared for launch the National Self Build and Renovation Centre, a dedicated 60,000 square foot centre in Swindon. She has worked to enhance business within every area of the property market, including developers, estate agents, insurance companies, letting agents, surveyors, property investment companies as well as in the part exchange business.
She has specialist knowledge of how house prices work and how to accurately value a property for sale or purchase. Both essential skills for anyone wanting to carry out a property project. Her expertise in property extends from buying and selling to renting and letting, self build and renovation, property investment, property types and the history of houses.
Kate is passionate about the property industry and works tirelessly to ensure that people - and the media – understand how to find and work with the best people/companies in the property market to ensure property projects are carried out successfully.
She has written six property books including four for Which? (Buy, Sell, Move House; Renting and Letting; Develop your Property and the Property Investment Handbook). Kate has also written articles for Woman and Home magazine and helped with articles and press releases for her business clients. Kate has appeared on TV, including ITV News (West) Women in Property, Esther and The Big Questions. She was part of a Radio 4 panel on social housing and is regularly called upon by various local BBC radio stations to comment on the property market and give essential advice to their listeners.
Kate has three degrees: Economics, Marketing and an MBA. Her background is large corporate companies such as Unilever, where she had Blue Chip training, but decided to work in smaller companies where she could make a real difference to their bottom line.
Kate is also passionate about teaching selling and negotiation skills and is the Education Liaison Officer for Notts/Derby Institute of Directors. She judges the annual East Midlands Young Enterprise Business Plan competition and is a member of the Author’s Society, the Institute of Directors and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
