Although American born, Ben de Lisi has become such a strong player on the English fashion scene that it is easy to forget that he’s not English.

He grew up in New York and was taught to sew by his Grandmother and studied sculpture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. In 1982 he moved to London to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion designer and produced his first capsule collection, which was very well received.

Ben de Lisi’s clothes have modern elegance and his signature long dresses have wide ranging appeal, being both sexy and beautiful.

Over the following years, he and his business partner, Debbie Lovejoy, have built up an independent brand with a loyal customer base and an established celebrity following.

Since 1995 Ben has been showing at London Fashion Week and has won the coveted British Glamour Designer of the Year award twice in 1994 and 1995.

Ben designs a diffusion line in conjunction with Debenhams called BDL by Ben de Lisi which has become one of the largest selling ranges under their Designers at Debenhams umbrella.

In 1998 Ben and Debbie opened the first stand alone boutique at 40 Elizabeth Street in Belgravia, where the entire collection is sold in an intimate and aesthetic space. This is the hub of the business and also where Ben holds his couture and bridal appointments.

Ben’s beautiful sense of style has been embraced by the interiors world. Since 2001 he has been working with Countryside Properties, a prestigious property developer in North west England, designing and giving the apartments his stylish touch. He is currently working with Abacus, developing a unique range of branded bathrooms.

The heart of the company and Ben’s primary focus is on his two mainline collections a year, using beautiful fabrics and innovative trims to provide his customers with what he is now well known for internationally – sexy, modern clothes for sexy, modern women.
The outstanding designer Ben de Lisi's signature style is instantly recognisable and he has developed a loyal fashion and celebrity following.
