Christine Webber is a sex columnist for BBC “Parenting Magazine”, agony aunt for BBC teen magazine “dare”, and sex and relationships expert on www.netdoctor.co.uk & www.askthesite.co.uk. She appears regularly on radio and television as an expert on relationships and mental health issues, writes self-help books, and works frequently as an independent media consultant and psychological spokesperson for a range of organisations, including The Home Office, Inland Revenue, Marks and Spencer, Cahoot, Horlicks, Roc, Expedia, and Diageo. She also has a private practice in Harley Street.
Christine initially trained as a classical singer at the Guildhall School of Music. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that she was not destined to become the next Maria Callas! So she turned her attention to musical theatre, pantomime and repertory before embarking upon a television career. She was the enormously popular leading news presenter for Anglia TV for eleven years and additionally produced and presented many social action and medical series for them.
She left Anglia in 1990 to become an agony aunt, and worked for numerous publications including best magazine, The Scotman and TV Times. Television ‘agony’ credits include ITV’s The Good Sex Guide … Late, Trisha & Am I Good In Bed?, Channel 5’s Espresso & Open House with Gloria Hunniford and various programmes on the Living Channel.
She published her first novel In Honour Bound in 1987 and followed that with nine non-fiction books including The Big O (co-written with her husband) Get The Happiness Habit and the recently published How To Mend A broken Heart. She plans to return to fiction writing and has recently completed a new novel.
Christine trained as a psychotherapist at Regent’s College and went on to take a London University diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She also has qualifications in Life Coaching.
She lives in Brighton with her media doctor husband, Dr. David Delvin.
