Jason has been presenting on UK network, cable and satellite TV for the last eight years. Known for his lively and contemporary style his credits include literally hundreds of programmes that span a wide range of genre from light entertainment, to science and technology formats. ‘The Big Breakfast’, ‘Top Gear GTI’, ‘Combat Cars’ and ITV’s ‘The Web Review Show’ are just a handful of successful series that Jason has fronted. And having started his TV career on the prestigious ‘BBC Production Training Scheme’ it is no surprise that Jason is actively involved in the content of many of the shows he presents; he has had three of his own series ideas commissioned including ‘Mercenaries’, a game show blend of multi-player gaming and genuine computer hacking.
He has racked up a number of ‘soft science’ credits; ‘The Store @ the end of the World’, ‘Mad Science’, ‘Cheats’, ‘Hard Labour’ and ‘Front Room’. Jason has hosted many corporate events and videos for clients including British Telecom, Renault F1, NEC, Panasonic and Orange. For his work on a series of staff orientated films for Blockbuster, he won ‘Best Corporate Video of the Year’ in 2000. In Dec 2004 Jason and Libra Television won an RTS Award (Royal Television Society) for Best Network Children’s Programme for ‘Gross!’, a colourful science show on Discovery Kids.
He is also on the judging panels for the BAFTA Video Game Awards and the Media Guardian Innovation Awards.
Jason's roots lie in the stand-up comedy circuit where he started out in a double act with David Walliams of ‘Little Britain’ fame. Jason has chalked up a number of light-entertainment credits such as ‘T Spot’, ‘Trouble @ Breakfast’, ‘FHM Top 100 Girls’ ‘Under the Moon’ and ‘Live from the Capital Café’ to name but a few. But it is in the arena of Science and Technology that he can most readily fuse his personal passions and knowledge with the skills of an entertainer.
He is a gadget and technology maestro, a keen collector of ‘exotic’ gizmos and an ardent techno DIY’er. He is a qualified pilot and has showcased his flying skills on many TV shows including BBC’s own ‘Top Gear of the Skies’ ‘The Air Show’ and the award winning Channel 4 Schools series ‘Science in Focus’.
Jason’s interest is no mere gadget fetish but a deep interest in understanding and explaining many of modern technology’s key concepts. For ‘The Gadget Show’, Jason regularly designs and builds his own gadgets with recent projects including a ‘Heads up Display’ (HUD) for his girlfriend’s Nissan Micra; a £1 electronic Lie Detector and the world’s first wireless and wearable Phone Glove.
Jason has written two out of three books within the trilogy ‘Dot Robot’ titled ‘Dot Robot’ and ‘Atomic Swarm’ with the third and final part; ‘Cyber Gold’ currently being written.
As a former stand-up comedian, Jason offers a fresh and alternative style, backed up by a solid knowledge of science and technology.
