Margaret Doyle is Contributing Editor at Economist Conferences, having been a senior commentator and facilitator at board and ministerial level for the past decade. She began her career as a management consultant in the Financial Institutions Group of McKinsey & Company, advising banks and insurance clients on strategy and performance improvement.

She covered business and finance for The Economist, the world’s premier current affairs magazine, and The Daily Telegraph, for a decade and edited Global Agenda, the magazine of the World Economic’s Forum’s annual meeting at Davos for two years.

She is internationally known as an expert on macroeconomics, corporate strategy and business leadership. As a frequent chair of conferences, broadcast commentator and radio presenter, she is known for her ability to present new insights on complex subjects in a straightforward and engaging way.

She comments regularly on business, the stock market and the economy for a variety of news organisations, including BBC radio and television, America’s NBC and NPR networks, Japan's NHK, Sky News and CNN. She has presented several programmes for the BBC, including the Today programme, The World Tonight and Analysis on Radio 4; The World Today on the World Service and Wake Up to Money on Five Live.

Margaret frequently chairs industry conferences for Economist Conferences, and has spoken at summits hosted by the European Commission, Commonfund, KPMG, ING, the Mersey Partnership, Trinity College, Dublin and Enterprise Ireland.

She currently advises KPMG International on thought leadership.

Margaret read economics at Trinity College, Dublin, where she was an Entrance Exhibitioner and Foundation Scholar. She earned a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School (HBS), where she was a Fulbright Scholar and a Baker Scholar. She now serves on the HBS European Leadership Council and as Vice President of the HBS Club of London. She is a member of the Consultative Board of the Institute for International Integration Studies at Trinity College, Dublin, and is on the Development Council of Historic Royal Palaces. She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2003.
