Ben started his first business in 1995 on his 15th birthday, making him at that time the youngest company director in the UK.
He first hit the headlines aged 17 when he developed a search technology called Pulsar. An investment company paid £25million for the rights to his technology ideas. Ben won ‘New Business Millennium Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ in 2000 and was reportedly worth £18.3m in the 2001 Sunday Times Rich List.
Ben has also appeared on television numerous times, including the much acclaimed Secret Millionaire on Channel 4 and in 2006 he stood as a candidate in Bayswater Ward in the City of Westminster.
In 2007, he joined Brightstation Ventures a VC fund with $100m to invest, he launched the pro social website HorsesMouth, which is one of the top 25 UK web 2.0 startups, and also launched a new postal operator, Viapost.
Ben has advised both the UK and US governments, multinationals and global academic institutions in technology and trends. He also headed up technical and environmental investments and due-diligence for the Rotch Property Group who has over £1 Billion in asset management.
Currently he is MD of The Rainmakers, which is an innovations and corporate venturing company and he is actively pursuing a strong interest in green projects and environmental technologies.
