CrisisGuy, Dr David Perl’s alter ego says, “Forget the credit crunch, recession and all the talk of doom and gloom. A far bigger crisis threatens the world - and it's gaining pace. It's causing people to be unhappy, decreasing productivity, increasing staff turnover and increasing legal and insurance costs. What is this crisis? It's the damaging effects of the high levels of stress that afflicts so many of us.”
He is uniquely placed, with many years of practice as a doctor and 10 years experience of running a business that specialises in crisis and stress management. David regularly speaks on these issues and is frequently asked for expert opinion by the media.
David qualified as a medical practitioner from St. Thomas' Hospital, London in 1984. He gained experience as a hospital doctor, including time in psychiatry and then as a GP. He then moved into Medical Assistance where for 10 years he was involved in over 1,000 repatriations from more than 80 countries.
During this time he gained extensive first hand experience of crises including coach crashes, fires, floods and fatal accidents. Recognising that many companies were ill equipped to handle these events he set up the now globally acclaimed business, docleaf in 1998 to provide organisations with the resource and expertise to handle, prepare and manage crisis situations.
Since that time, docleaf has grown to provide a range of human focussed crisis and risk management services, including crisis, absence and stress management, people development and workplace wellness. He also shares his simple method of becoming healthier, happier and less stressed with people with the success stories speaking for themselves.
With 28 years experience, David is a recognised expert in his field and a member of the Business Continuity Institute, lectures globally and frequently comments on industry issues.
