Alison's expertise, originality and flair are much acclaimed and an inspiration to many. Never happier than when she is in her own home and garden, Alison successfully combines her writing and broadcasting career with family life.
Alison’s most current television work has been as presenter of “Homes & Property”, a 6 part series for ITV prime time which has had two successful series and she was the presenter/property expert for ITV’s, “Don’t Move Improve” a 30 part daytime property/design series.

In 2004 Alison was a regular contributor to ITV’s popular daytime show 60 Minute Makeover. She also co-hosts a weekly property show on LBC radio. And regularly appears on ITV’s “London Tonight”. Alison wrote and presented Channel 5’s “Countdown to Christmas” and “Domestic Magic”.

Alison’s originality and flair have become trademarks of her decorative and recipe ideas, and she has written several books on these subjects.

She has also successfully developed several properties and written a well received book on the subject – ‘The Streetwise Guide to Renovating Your Home’ (Piatkus).

She writes weekly property columns in the Evening Standard and Saturday Telegraph, plus weekly “Bargain of the Week” for the Sunday Mirror and Friday Times Supplement. These have given rise to specialist websites.

Alison also publishes The Really Useful Directory, a guide to goods and services for the homeowner, given free of charge to readers of The Evening Standard.

Having gained a degree in Classics from Cambridge University in the 1980s’, Alison decided to make her hobbies - cookery, decorating and gardening - her career, and launched Alison At Home. Books followed and then television appearances, which led to her own TV series and websites.

Known as the UK’s version of Martha Stewart, Entrepreneur Alison runs a hugely successful business, is the mother of two young children, a TV presenter, a writer, a chef, a gardener and an interior designer.
