A young, bright, bubbly and sassy collectables expert Tracy specialises in today’s current market but is also extremely knowledgeable about the collectables and antiques industry as a whole.
She has a vast knowledge of many antique and collectable subjects, which include shoes, handbags, toys, ceramics and glass – and is able to connect with the collectable needs of both men and women.
Her specialist areas are fashion, retro collectables (50s/60s/70s) as well as the modern day collectable market. Tracy can advise on what to buy now as a collectable of the future, as well as looking at new trends, and advising on which of those 20th Century treasures are now highly prized.
Another area Tracy is fascinated with is the social history behind the items. She loves to know how things evolved, how they impacted on society and why now they are an important part of our everyday lives.
A people person Tracy very much enjoys hearing people’s own stories on how they discovered a bargain, or the history behind an item they own to advising people on what to collect and how to gain the most enjoyment from collectables.
Tracy has also appeared on many television programmes including being one of the on-screen Experts on BBC Flog it!, as well as The Paul O Grady Show, The One Show, This Morning and BBC World News. She was a resident expert on BBC’s 20th Century Roadshow where she worked alongside the Antiques Roadshow experts and also made an appearance as a Fashion Expert on UKStyle’s ‘Gutted’ presented by Mark Durden Smith.
For over two years Tracy has been the Collectables Expert appearing on a regular monthly slot for BBC London Radio’s Lesley Joseph Show. Where she advises listeners on what to buy and where to sell, as well as valuing items over the phone. Tracy has also appeared as a guest on numerous radio shows around the country.
She is the author of ‘The Greatest Collecting Tips in the World,’ and ‘Christmas Collectables.’ Her newest publications ‘Collectable Names and Designs in Women’s Fashion’ along with ‘Collectable Names and Designs in Women’s Shoes’ are due for publication in 2011, with a third book in the series ‘Collectable Names and Design in Women’s Handbags’ due for publication in 2012.
Aside from all of this Tracy still manages to find time to conduct lectures on her chosen subjects of Collectables. A passionate and enthusiastic speaker, Tracy loves nothing more than connecting with her audience by sharing her knowledge and experiences in the form of informative and humorous talks.
