Justin began his performing career as a stand-up, winning the ‘New Comedy Competition’ at the Glastonbury Festival in 1997. He then went on to reach the finals of the ‘BBC New Comedy Awards’ at the Edinburgh Festival. This lead to him hosting shows for MTV and Bravo, and from there he left stand-up behind for good to become a full time TV presenter. He was spotted fronting Flipside TV, a late night show on digital, which lead to a break with BBC 3, hosting the spin off show to the first series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Along with Alan Carr, Justin has hosted the comedy-variety Friday Night Project since it’s second series on Channel 4 in 2006. Each week a celebrity guest host would be interviewed by Alan and Justin, and take questions from the studio audience. They would also take part in comedy sketches, hidden camera stunts and a game show. Originally broadcast on Friday nights, the show moved to Sunday nights for its seventh series in 2008, and rather aptly became The Sunday Night Project instead. Series 8 was the final series of the ‘Project’ and aired in late 2008/early 2009.

Justin is a talented singer and he contested to represent the UK in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. He also sought the nomination to represent Ireland. His proposed song was written by Boyzone star Ronan Keating. However, the song was unfortunately not short listed for the final.

In September 2009 Justin’s autobiography, Good Times! was published by Ebury Press.

Justin has fronted a myriad of personal documentaries for various channels. Between 2005 and 2009 he hosted a number of ‘Bring Back…’ shows for Channel 4, in which he attempted to locate people from music, TV or film related backgrounds to reunite them for a one-off performance or get-together. He also made a series for Channel 4 entitled ‘The Convention Crasher’, which aired in late 2007 and early 2008.

Justin’s talk show, ‘The Justin Lee Collins Show’ focussed on topical issues, but with a comedic twist. In 2009, after signing an exclusive deal with Five, Justin hosted the channel’s game show ‘Heads Or Tails’, where players could win up to £1million by correctly calling coin flips.

Early 2010 saw him host his own ten-part entertainment chat show for Five, ‘Justin Lee Collins: Good Times’, in which he interviewed some of the most interesting and topical guests in town, with a musical act from pop, rock or theatre performing at the end of each show.

Recently Justin won the 'Funniest Man' award at the Loaded LAFTAS 2010 after having won the ‘Television Presenter of the Year’ Award at the 2009 Royal Variety Club Awards.

Justin is available for corporate events. His warm personality, enthusiasm, and charm make him a wonderful host for a variety of events. Previous corporate work includes hosting large-scale awards and corporate entertainment evenings, including The Nabs Big Bash flagship annual fundraising event, the GO Belfast Magazine Awards, and the ‘Superdrug StarStruck’: bi-annual fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK, NSPCC and Teenage Cancer Trust.

TESTIMONIALS

“Just a note to say how fantastic we thought Justin was on Saturday, hosting the Superdrug Starstruck charity event and to say thank you for making it such a brilliant evening for us and our guests. For a celebrity booking to not only do the job in hand but to seemingly actually enjoy himself AND then happily meet guests and have a laugh and a picture, was really and truly refreshing - Justin please don’t ever change from being such a nice down to earth and naturally funny man…Justin, you really deserve all of the accolades you are receiving and best of luck for now and certainly for a long and successful future.”

“This year’s host, Justin Lee Collins, took to the stage and had the crowd in the palm of his hand before you could say “Heads or Tails?”. We’ve always had some great hosts at the Big Bash …Rob Brydon, Vernon Kay (a big fan of our “text a friend” fundraiser) … but JLC was without a doubt the best host we’ve had and having such a good time that he was one of the last to leave!...”

“On behalf of all of us at NABS, a huge thank you for your amazing performance at last week’s NABS Big Bash. I was deeply impressed not just by your professionalism, but also the way you truly engaged with the audience both on and off the stage. So many people have come up to say how brilliant you were. They are not a forgiving or easy audience, so it’s a praise well justified. It was also great of you to stay on and meet / greet the many fans that you have (many new ones). You are a fabulous entertainer and thanks to your hosting, the audience had a wonderful evening raising money for a good cause. I very much hope that we may be able to entice you back at some stage to do some more events for NABS – and meanwhile thank you for all of us for your performance last Thursday.”
