Prof Greg Whyte has had an international sporting career of note, followed by a career in Sports Science at the highest elite level but he will be most recently remembered for his recent work guiding both David Walliams and Christine Bleakley to his and her inspiring and unbelievable swims across the English Channel in 2006 and 2010 on behalf of Sport Relief. He is also responsible for coaching actor and comedian Eddie Izzard on his amazing achievement of runing 43 full marathons in 51 days.
Greg's sporting career saw him represent Great Britain as a Modern Pentathlete (combining the sports of Swimming, Shooting, Fencing, Equestrian and Running) from 1986 to 2000. His most notable achievements include representing Great Britain at the Olympiads of 1992 in Barcelona, Spain and 1996 in Atlanta, USA. His career also includes 10 World Championship appearances with a SILVER medal performance in 1984.
